Vote While It’s Still Legal

Saturday October 17 is the start of early voting in the State of Nevada.

So guess what day it is?

It’s FUCK TRUMP AND HIS ENTIRE PARTY OF ENABLERS DAY!!

ALL of them. Even the ones who seem to have brains. For example: Joe Lombardo. Lombardo is the Republican Governor of Nevada, running for re-election against Aaron Ford, the Democrat and current state Attorney General. The ad campaigns are really slamming Ford, in particular for agreeing to clemency on a convicted murderer, which was apparently one reason for Clark County’s Attorney General Steve Wolfson to endorse Lombardo despite Wolfson being a Democrat. Lombardo was a fairly effective Sheriff in Las Vegas, and when he beat former Governor Steve Sisolak, it wasn’t the end of the world. It won’t be the end of the world if he wins re-election. I don’t care. Because Lombardo is a Republican, and if you want to stay in the Republican Party, you have to surrender your ego, judgment and conscience to Donald Trump, who has only one of the three. The only reason this country is as fucked as it is is not because of the Constitution, but because the Congressional majority avoids its constitutional responsibility to check the President, because they don’t think of him as a second branch of government, they think of him as their boss. I don’t think that a Congress run by Hakeem Jeffries and Chuck Schumer would be that much less deferential to Russia’s Viceroy, but they would at least be in charge of things like committees and review of Cabinet appointments, which will be a big difference right there.

Same thing with state governments. The reason Congress is structured the way it is is because a lot of state legislatures are that much more in the tank for Trump than Washington is, for example redistricting near an election and before the next census, just to gerrymander Democrats out of congressional seats.

Donald Trump wheedles and whines and begs his voters, “just pretend I’m on the ballot.” Because the joke is, he really is the most popular and mainstream candidate they have. Why else does Ken Paxton (US Senate candidate in Texas) accept him coming to town to “support” him with backhanded insults on stage? Ken Paxton as Texas Attorney General got impeached by his own party for corruption and barely won acquittal in the state Senate. Anybody who votes for these sad sacks is doing so only because they’re a Trump fan club, and a continued congressional majority enforces Trump rule, not because the candidates themselves are any good.

The real joke is that the rest of the country ARE voting like Trump is on the ballot, BECAUSE as long as the Guardians Of Pedophilia are a congressional majority acting on Trump’s orders, he gets to do anything he wants to do, and THAT is the reason everything in this country sucks. And to judge from his own polls and those of his candidates, everyone knows this.

In and of itself, the opposition party taking the House, or even both chambers of Congress, is to be expected. It often happens in a midterm cycle, as a referendum on the president. But no president since Nixon has been this unpopular, and no one including Nixon has been this obsessed with clinging to power, by hook and especially by crook.

The real issue is the American political cycle. Trump officially cannot run again. But the day after a midterm election campaign is the first day of the next presidential campaign. Trump has to decide if he’s going to start things off by violating the 22nd Amendment. Now his pet Supreme Court might go along with some weasely excuse to let him do it, but he’d still have to go over Congress and it would be a lot harder without the House and with less votes in the Senate. And, he’d have to actually run, and if being unofficially on the ballot is reducing his party’s chances, imagine what they would be if Donnie was running for President For Life/God-Emperor.

Trump could do the sensible thing (I am pausing about five minutes to laugh hysterically) and step aside to let someone in his Inner Party run in 2028, but that raises the questions of whom, and whether Trump would be any help. Both JD Vance and Marco Rubio have credibility within the party, but they’ve undermined their credibility with everyone else by betraying everything they said about conservatism to worship Trump. Plus, Liddle Marco already proved himself to be a wet noodle running against Trump in the 2016 primaries, and the more people see of Vance, the less they like him. Either way, after November 3, Trump IS a lame duck, and after December, he won’t even have the influence an incumbent would have with Congress. Unless Trump and his Party of slaves try to stop the seating of Congress the way he tried to stop the Electoral College certification of Joe Biden.

If Trump doesn’t stop the election results, he will never be more powerful than he is now. What would you do if you were him? Well, we all know, because he’s already done it.

Plus which, Donald Trump is a pudding brain who had very limited imagination at the best of times, and he’s going to go with what he knows. It didn’t work the last time, but he still proved he could send a lynch mob to kill the Republican Congress for committing heresy against him and the Senate would still vote not to convict on impeachment. And that was before John Roberts said anything Trump wants to do is legal as long as he can justify it as an “official act.” And that was before Trump got Pete Hegseth to run the armed forces.

Of course we would be decertifying a lot more than one Electoral College process, but all the Congressional elections and 35 Senate races. And that would take a lot more doing. And the harder the Greedy Old Puritans try to gin the results, the more obvious it will be that they’re against the entire country, and while the marshmallows in the Democratic Congress might flutter their fans and strongly protest, the rest of us would be a lot more motivated. And if Trump tries to get Kegsbreath to take over the country, he’s going to be doing it with a miltary whose logistics have been ground to nothing by war with Iran, he would have to do a land military campaign against a nation that is a lot larger by area and population than Iran, and a lot of that population would have their own guns, and a lot of those people are Midwestern farmers who would like to know why we jacked up the price of diesel for the benefit of the Middle East and Jeffrey Epstein’s Mossad buddies.

Trump is going to try this, but Trump being Trump, he may back off. Recently Kegsbreath proudly announced a big beautiful broadcast for the execution of the Fort Hood shooter (who was sentenced to the death penalty already), but this was so ugly and tasteless even by Trump standards that this week Trump cancelled the broadcast, although not the execution. My thinking is that what’s left of Trump’s brain realized the public execution of criminals who are directly responsible for killing our servicemen might get a lot more popular by 2029. So that’s another reason to vote ALL Trump’s enablers out, and to do so in such nationwide margins that our occupation government cannot create a feasible rationale to stop it.

Plus which, Republicans, look on the bright side. Democrats will never be more popular than they are now. If they take at least one house of Congress, then they’re going to have responsibility for that end of things, while still having Trump in charge. And most likely they’re still going to be led by Schumer and Jeffries, who didn’t put up much opposition when they had a chance. You’ll be in prime position to win the White House again in 2028, because you’re dealing with a mainstream party that had control of things before and couldn’t make a case for why we shouldn’t re-elect the guy who gave us all Trump Virus.(TM) They’ll choke. They always do.

That’s why they’re here.
